WHO: Puppies, Adult Dogs and Seniors!  Dogs  must be older than 10 weeks with first 2 series of vaccines and if older than 5 months must have rabies vaccine

Class Description: Socialization for puppies is critical.  What is socialization? According to the American Veterinary Medical Association “Socialization is the process of preparing a dog or cat to enjoy interactions and be comfortable with other animals, people, places and activities. Ideally, socialization should begin during the “sensitive period” which is between 3 and 14 weeks of age for puppies.” 

This class will be set up as stations/obstacles that you’ll get to encourage your puppy/dog through. Stations will change with each Super Socialization session so your puppy/dog will experience something new each time.  

You’ll go home with a more social, braver, tired dog!   

 (WHO: Puppies 10 to 20 weeks with first series of DHPP vaccines.  Owners may also start early without their puppy if they’d like!)

Class Description: New puppy?  No pressure, but puppies go through a critical socialization period from 3 to 16 weeks and the American Veterinary Medical Association recommends you get started socializing sooner rather than later to have the dog of your dreams.  In fact, they found that “Dogs who had more social contacts or attended puppy classes before twelve weeks of age were less likely to develop fearful or aggressive behavior.”

WHAT IS A ROLLING CLASS? 

A rolling class allows people/pups to enroll in and start at any week and attend the entire 6 week series or just a class or two (classes repeat every 6 weeks).  

Why did we move to a rolling class for the puppy class?  The primary socialization period for puppies is 3 to 16 weeks.  When people wait to start a typical class (due to vaccines, timing, etc) they may MISS starting during the most important socialization window for the puppy.  And the earlier you start the classes the more of an impact you’ll have longterm on your puppy’s development. 

 BELOW is an example of the schedule.  When you enroll, you’ll see exactly which of these you are enrolling in.

Week 1: Biting, Nipping Chewing.  Commands,  Socialization

Week 3: Crate Training. Commands,  Socialization

Week 4: Restraint For Grooming, Nails, Vet, etc Commands,  Socialization

Class Description:  Want a GOOD dog?  Then this is the class for you.  Manners 1 is the foundation for all other Manners classes.   

In this teaching class we’ll work on introducing all of the basics such as: Sit, Come, Down, Loose Leash Walking, Settle, Not Jumping and so much more.  We’ll work at low level distractions as we build the skills.

Class Description: Have you always wanted a dog you could take anywhere?  Coffee with friends at an outdoor cafe or maybe dinner and a glass of wine while your pup lays by your side.  Or maybe you’ve always dreamed of having a therapy dog that visited nursing homes or hospitals.  

Then this class is for you.  We’ll work on the 10 items needed for a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) as well as all testing requirements for the Pet Parners Therapy dog program.  This class can be taken as often as needed in order to prep for both the CGC exam and Pet Partners and TDI exam.

This is it!  Tunnels, tables, weaves, balance boards, jumps and more!  We’ll work with your dog on agility obstacles, fitness equipment and more for this fun confidence boosting class!

Class Description: Canine Nosework is easily the fastest growing dog sport!  Nosework not only fine tunes your dog’s keen sense of smell, but it builds confidence and is a great choice for fearful and apprehensive dogs and puppies.

Class Description: Some dogs just need a little help getting their loose leash walking skills down pat.  We’ll go over why dogs pull, how to get them to stop, the pros and cons of training tools, and step by step working with distractions.

Class Description: Rally Obedience is a fun-filled sport that works through signs that instruct the handler and dog what to do.  The ultimate Simon Says of dog training, the dogs and owners love the fun and encouraging environment.  We’ll go step by step through each sign in AKC Rally Novice and practice individually and with small run-throughs.  Dogs will learn lots of leash handling skills, stays, sits, etc.

Class Description: Has your dog hit that shark age?  4 to 5 months is the most common age people first contact me for training.  “My puppy won’t leave the kids alone!”  “My puppy has destroyed another pair of my pants!”  Or “No matter how many toys I give him/her they STILL are ripping up my hands!”  

This class will go over the reasons why puppies bite, how to proactively prevent it and what to do if the puppy does bite.  People typically see drastic improvements within 2 weeks of working on this.  

This is a seminar style class where you’ll be given the knowledge and tools to stop biting and nipping or prevent it before it starts!

***This class is NOT for adult dogs that are showing signs of aggression.  This class is for puppies and young adults that are biting and nipping.

Class Description: Having a dog that loves their crate ensures your pup is safe and your house is safe while your gone.  With a little work we’ll have your dog excitedly running to their crate. 

This class will go over the benefits of crate training, how to alleviate anxiety of being in the crate and transform the crate from a place of dread to a place of rest and relaxation. 

Owner will be given a plan to select the correct crate, how to build value for the crate, set up a schedule of crating and will be shown crate training with the instuctor’s demo dog.

Class Description: New puppy on the way?  Or maybe your dog is a bit older and just isn’t getting it.  You’re frustrated and you want this dog potty trained ASAP!  This is the class for you!

We’ll go over all of the key points of potty training.  How to get the dog to go outside and potty when you ask them to AND how to let you know they need to go out.  You’ll be done with that feeling of “I JUST TOOK YOU OUT!!  WHY DID YOU PEE ON MY FLOOR!”  

This is a seminar style class.  We’ll lay out why dogs pee/poop inside, why they don’t let us know, etc.  We’ll lay out a plan and teach you how to teach your dog the ins and outs of potty training.
