Hi Everyone! My name is Becky Rupert and I'm looking forward to working with you and your pet. I've been working with pets and their pet parents for over 15 years now and love helping owners to make that connection with their dog and helping to transform their household from chaos to calm. Training your dog or new puppy can be challenging, but I'm here to help and guide you each step of the way.
Thanks for taking the time to find out a little bit more about me and for investing the time to find out how you can have the dog of your dreams. |
Have you always trained dogs?
I've been teaching dogs all of my life, but official did it as a "job" in 1998. Dogs have always been a constant in my life. Growing up my mom and dad bred and raised Dalmatians so I was always there to help. You could often find me training them to do tricks and hoping I was discovered for the next episode of "That's My Dog!" In 1997, I started mentoring a trainer and in 1998 I completed a program to become a dog trainer. I've been training both my dogs and other's dogs ever since.
In addition to training dogs, I also have Bachelor's and Master's degree in Biology and an MBA with a dual focus in Marketing and Management, Innovation and Change. I clearly love to learn and show the same enthusiasm for learning in dog training. I typically attend 2 dog training seminars each year to continue to learn and develop my skills as I believe no one is ever done learning.
While obtaining my degrees, I worked in retail for 8 years and learned how important customer service is.. For the past 9 years I've worked for a top Fortune 500 company as a Market Researcher and also have done a small stint as a manager for a Quality Assurance laboratory with the same company.
What do you love about training dogs?
I'm a little different than many trainers in that I love working with dogs and PEOPLE! So many people get into the business because they love dogs, but I equally love helping people reach their goals. One of my favorite jobs was teaching undergraduate classes while I was in graduate school. Dog training combines my love for teaching people and my love of dogs.
I love to see owners work with their dogs and develop a relationship together. I can see it happening and one day it just clicks. The dog looks at the owner with respect and devotion and the owner looks at the dog with equal respect and appreciation for the dog they have become. I can't wait to see it happen for you!
